Every traveler, including children and infants, must secure their own ETA.
Decisions are typically rendered within three working days, though expedited decisions may be available.
The process may extend beyond three working days if additional verifications are necessary.
Your ETA will be valid for a duration of 2 years. If your passport has less than 2 years of validity remaining, you will need to acquire a new ETA.
The ETA allows for multiple visits to the UK. However, you must either utilize an ePassport gate if eligible or consult with a Border Force officer for entry into the UK.
Possession of an ETA does not assure admission into the UK.
You are required to apply for one of the following:
– A Standard Visitor visa for visiting the UK
– A Temporary Work – Creative Worker visa for entering the UK as a creative worker
– A transit visa for transiting through the UK
Obtaining an ETA will be more expedient and simpler than acquiring a UK visa for EU visitors. Completing the online form should only take a few minutes. EU citizens must apply for their ETA several days prior to their travel to the UK. The application form will require the following information:
– Personal Details: This includes the full name and date of birth.
– Passport Information: This includes the passport number, and its expiry and issue dates.
– Contact Details: This includes the telephone number and email address.
– Travel Itinerary: This includes the date of arrival in the UK.
Once the form is filled out and the associated fees are paid, the visa waiver for the EU visitor will be processed by the UK authorities.
Once the ETA is approved, it will be directly sent to the email address provided during the application.
