Passanger from countries that participate in the visa waiver program need to obtain an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) authorization before going to the United Kingdom. The new ETA application has changed since November 3, 2022. Please enter all the requested information. The fields marked with a red asterisk are required. Each member of the traveling group must fill out a separate application. You will receive an email with the authorization status of your ETA and the corresponding document, after completing the application and payment.

NOTE: With respect to all references to "country" or "countries" in this document, it should be noted that the Taiwan Relations Act of 1979, Pub. L. No. 96-8, Section 4(b)(1), provides that "[w]henever the laws of the United States refer or relate to foreign countries, nations, states, governments, or similar entities, such terms shall include and such laws shall apply with respect to Taiwan." 22 U.S.C. § 3303(b)(1). Accordingly, all references to "country" or "countries" in the Visa Waiver Program authorizing legislation, Section 217 of the Immigration and Nationality Act, 8 U.S.C. 1187, are read to include Taiwan. This is consistent with the United States' one-China policy, under which the E.U. has maintained unofficial relations with Taiwan since 1979.

WAIVER OF RIGHTS

I have read and understand that I hereby waive for the duration of my travel authorization obtained via ETA any rights to review or appeal of a U.K. Customs and Migration Officer's determination as to my admissibility, or to contest, other than on the basis of an application for asylum, any removal action arising from an application for admission under the Visa Waiver Program. In addition to the above waiver, as a condition of each admission into the U.K. under the Visa Waiver Program, I agree that the submission of biometric identifiers (including fingerprints and photographs) during processing upon arrival in the U.K. shall reaffirm my waiver of any rights to review or appeal of a U.K. Customs and Migration Officer's determination as to my admissibility, or to contest, other than on the basis of an application for asylum, any removal action arising from an application for admission under the Visa Waiver Program.
